Kegs Softball Club got the 2026 season underway with two pre-season training sessions held on 11 January and 25 January at Railway Union Sports Club. These early sessions marked the first opportunity of the year for players across the club to dust off the gloves, shake off the off-season rust, and ease back into softball ahead of the league campaign.

Both sessions were open to all of KCB, bringing together players from across the club in a relaxed but focused training environment. With a mix of familiar faces and newer members, the sessions reflected what the club is all about: inclusive, welcoming, and built around enjoying the game while preparing to compete.

The focus of the sessions was simple. Get back into it. Drills were designed to reintroduce core skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running, while also giving players time to reconnect with teammates and rebuild confidence on the field. For some, it was a chance to sharpen skills ahead of another competitive season. For others, it was about getting comfortable and finding their feet after time away from the game.

Importantly, the sessions were suitable for players of all levels, from those preparing for Premier and Division 1 action to players newer to softball or returning after a break. The emphasis was on participation, encouragement, and setting a positive tone for the months ahead.

As the season approaches, pre-season training will continue to play a key role in preparing Kegs teams for league play. Dates for upcoming sessions will be shared through the club’s usual channels.

If you are a current member, keep an eye on WhatsApp for details of the next session. If you are interested in getting involved with Kegs Softball Club, whether you are new to the sport or looking for a new club, now is a great time to reach out and join us on the field.
